This Privacy Policy explains what information the GD: Variant Swatches app (the “App”) accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected when you install and use the App on your Shopify store. By installing the App, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Overview
GD: Variant Swatches replaces the standard product option selectors on your storefront with visual swatches. The App is designed to work with the data your store already holds. It does not collect, store, or process the personal data of your customers.
2. Information we access
To provide its features, the App accesses the following information from your Shopify store through the Shopify Admin API, using the permissions you approve at installation:

3. How we use information
The information above is used only to:
- Operate the features you install the App to use.
- Generate and display swatches on your storefront.
- Save and apply the swatch configuration you create.
- Provide support and respond to your requests.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Customer personal data
The App does not request, collect, or store the personal data of your customers (such as names, email addresses, orders, or payment information). Swatches are generated from product and option data that is already published on your storefront.
5. Storefront behavior
On your storefront, the App runs through a theme app embed. To display swatches quickly, it reads publicly available product information and may temporarily cache that product information in the visitor’s browser using session storage. This cache stays on the visitor’s device, is cleared when the browser tab is closed, and contains no personal data. The App does not set advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Data retention and deletion
We keep your store session only while the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, your store session is deleted from our database.
Your swatch configuration is stored in metafields on your own Shopify store, so it remains under your control. You can clear this data at any time using the App’s reset option in Settings.
The App also supports Shopify’s mandatory data protection webhooks. Because the App stores no customer personal data, a customer data request returns no personal data, and customer and shop deletion requests are honored by removing the related store session we hold.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information the App handles, including encrypted connections for data in transit and restricted access to the App’s systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete information we hold, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Since the App stores only your store session and your own configuration, you can exercise most of these rights directly by resetting App data in Settings or by uninstalling the App. For any other request, contact us using the details below.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date below. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
